Eve A Test Dummy?

Eve a test dummy?

This seems to be One of the Latest Theories I have heard recently on the bible. I use Theory because I hadnt found ANY scripture that backs it up and the ones saying it hadnt given me any except Adam being present made Him Guilty.

The topic is Adam is the blame not Eve for eating the fruit in the Garden of Eden.

The reasoning I have been given by a few people is that Adam was there and didnt stop Eve. Not only that, he used her as a guinee pig to make sure he wouldnt die if he ate of the fruit. He made her eat first to see the outcome.

I dont see anything that says Adam used Eve to make sure it was safe for him to eat.
The serpent convinced Eve to eat.
Eve Gave to Adam.
The Lord said to Eve “what is this that THOU has done?”
God punished Eve for eating of the fruit and giving it to Adam.
Adam was punished for listening to the woman and eating of the fruit.

I know we live in a society that teaches dont accept responsibility for your own actions and it is others fault but we dont need to apply that theology to the bible. How people can say it was Adams fault and not include Eve I just dont see.

If you do notice Adam blamed eve instead of just accepting he did wrong. Even blamed the serpent instead of saying she did wrong. How far have we come from then till now. We still play the blame game. It's not me. Its them. My kids wouldnt do that? How many times do our friends and family expect us to take their sides even if they are in the wrong. We can read when it started but when will it stop.

What I get from these verses concerning the forbidden fruit is that they BOTH did wrong. They BOTH knew they did wrong and tried to hide from God. They BOTH tried to blame others when confronted.

If the bible verses themselves dont convince you. Men, have your wife do something she isnt wanting to do and see how it goes. Wives, do you expect your husband to listen to what you tell him to do? Be honest?

God made man the head of the house and the woman a helpmate who we as men should love and treat with all the respect they deserve. We should be lifting them up enough so we never look down at them and they never feel they look up at us in any way except with respect for treating them with love.

For bible referenses, I put the whole chapter IN king james version and the key verses also in NIV.

Lets read the chapter it talks about.

Genesis 3King James Version (KJV)

3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LordGod had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LordGod amongst the trees of the garden.
And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Key verses in New international version:

but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was 12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” with her, and he ate it.
17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’

WALKING DEAD

Walking Dead.

It's a popular TV show about The walking dead. How about that, it tells you in the title what to expect.
It's about zombies. They are dead, walking around and trying to increase their numbers by infecting others.

What does this have to do with Spiritual things? This will probably sound strange, but it reminds me at times what it's like to try and live a Christian life.

We live in a world of sin. We are Born again and given eternal life thru Jesus Christ. Psalms 4:3 says, “Know that the LORD has set apart His faithful servant for himself;” But, we have to stay alert. If we put ourselves in places to be tempted and give in to it, it's like our testimony, our witness, is destroyed. The world wants to effect us so that we are not set appart. It wants to effect us and make us one of them.
Peter 5:8 says, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” In the show, this is literal. Spiritually, the devil wants to keep others away from true life. He wants them to stay a zombie and to effect others. He doesnt want the dead to learn about God's love and how His Son died for our sins. Psalms 115:17 says “The dead do not praise the Lord, Nor any who go down into silence.”
The Bible says we are already condemned. We are walking dead until we accept Christ as our Savior. John 3:16 – 18 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.”

The show also has hinted at who really is the walking dead? Is it the zombies? Or is it the living? The Walking Dead TV show says that everyone was infected by a virus. That it is already in us. So we are dead already, just waiting to see how it ends. Looking at it spritually, when Adam and Eve sinned, it basically created a sin virus that is already in us. We are walking around dead and waiting to see how our life ends. Unlike the show, we have a cure. That is Salvation through Jesus. Admit He is your Savior, Believe He is the Son of God, and Confess your sins and TURN from them.

I know this is a little different, but some times, to reach others you have to speak their language. You have to show them in a way they may understand. Or at least get their attention and make them think.

Hmm, I wonder what I should do next.
Vampires and how the blood is important to life and how the Shedding of Jesus' blood is important to our life.
Frankenstien, how man tries to make himself in his own image instead of accepting that God made us in His image.
Wolfman and how under certain situations he gives into his nature?
Or Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde. How you may live fooling others that you are like them, but when they are not around you show your evil side.
