Happy Halloween or NOT? What are you doing and should you?

HALLOWEEN: GOOD OR BAD:

I know some that dont do halloween in any form due to their spiritual beliefs. I understand and respect their belief. I also, know some who do Trunk or Treat in hopes to be a witness on this day.

For those who dont do anything on this day here is some reasons I have found:

Deuteronomy 18:10-12
never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling or sorcery, or allow them to interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is an object of horror and disgust to the Lord.

Corinthians 10:21 - You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

3 John 1:11 - Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.

Ephesians 5:11 - Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Ephesians 5:6-12 - Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.

These are some verses I have heard for the reasons not to do Halloween. A lot have to do with DONT DO EVIL. Dont be conformed. Dont be deceived. Follow your own spirit and Trust God where He leads you concerning doing anything on this day. Are you doing anything good for God.

1 Corinthians 9:22 

22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.

John 1:5 . The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

2 Corinthians 4:6

For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Matthew 10:27

"What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.

Matthew 5:16

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Acts 13:47

"For so the Lord has commanded us, 'I HAVE PLACED YOU AS A LIGHT FOR THE GENTILES, THAT YOU MAY BRING SALVATION TO THE END OF THE EARTH.'"

All thru the bible it talks about how we are to be a light to the world and tell others about Christ. How we are not to be part of the world but a light IN IT.

So if your spirit is telling you that this is a way that you can SHARE THE GOSPEL then wouldnt that be showing a light to the darkness.

My simple thought on it. If you do nothing on halloween then you did NOTHING. If you can hand out a track explaining the gospel when handing out candy or doing Something that tells about Gods Love, then you are using this as we should every day. As an opportunity to share Christ.

We are doing a puppet show like we did last year. We had over 1000 kids not counting the parents that we were able to tell that Christ is their Savior and then they get candy. So if some believe this is a day of Darkness, I hope my little light shines and seeds get planted that Gods love can reach. So if your not out there, at least some of us are.

The big thing to me on this day is if you are handing out candy and thats it, you are just celebrating a holiday. Then maybe define what Halloween means? To me, its a day God gave me to tell others about Him. One they actually come to me..........
